Happy New Year's Eve!

We are gearing up for our big party tonight in room #288. The recreation director at Piedmont has already stopped by to drop off our New Year's Hats, blowers and noise makers. I have been advised to just "blow my horn" if I need the nurse tonight. haha. Bill and I are going to order in some yummy food and toast to 2011! New Year's is one of my favorite Holidays, it just creates such hope and excitement. I am ready for a wonderful 2011 and am so excited to spend this evening with my sweet husband.

We had a great doctor's appointment yesterday, it looks like my fluid has gone up to 6.1 and Baker has grown to 2lbs, 3 oz. That is 6 oz in two weeks! Go Baker! They are continuing to monitor his growth and will weigh him again in 2 weeks. The Doctor said that he is looking great and that we are doing the right things. Just keep laying down and drinking A LOT! Bill got to wheel me up to the ultrasound, I guess everyone is getting used to us. Dr. Daddy got to grab my chart and push my wheelchair. It was like we were on a date. So fun! He also showed me the delivery rooms, they look really nice! After our "date", he wheeled me by to see the sweet babies in the nursery. I guess that he has done some exploring in his time at Piedmont. He really knows his way around. Its a good thing, because I have only seen the inside of our room. We actually had our tour/birthing class scheduled for the end of January...so I haven't even gotten the tour yet-haha.

Mom has been keeping me company and brought me my favorite dinner last night-Buttermilk Chicken with mashed potatoes. YUM! We watched Carolina beat Tennessee and spent some time with my wonderful Mama W. That game was AWESOME! Today I had a visit from one of my friends from High School, Melissa Redderson. She had her little baby at 29 weeks and is a pro at the bedrest thing. She brought me play-doh and coloring books to keep me busy. :-) My two best friends from childhood came by yesterday, Trish and Lindsey and we had a great time hanging out. Lindsey brought her darling little girl, Emmie, who is 2. She is gorgeous. Emmie's little sister Anabelle is 5 months old and can't wait to meet her boyfriend, Baker. Trish has a 3 month old son named Will and he can't wait to cruise the Buckhead streets with his new buddy Baker. My friend Katie Kochman came by on Wednesday and we had a great time catching up. Kaylin swung by after work yesterday to say Hi before she and Sean left for the Highlands, NC. Bill and I were supposed to celebrate New Year's with them up in the mountains and are sorry to miss them this year. We have spent 3 New Year's in a row with them. Can't wait for next New Year's, we'll get back on track!

We are 28 weeks today!! Another week down, which means another week of "Baking"! Yay!

Visitors Make the World Go Round!!

Table for 4!! Alli came down to be with me and Baker. She always makes everything better. My Mom and Alli stayed with us for the first weekend and it made the time fly by. Alli and I actually slept in the same bed and we had a cute girls slumber party in room #290. Alli and Tracee are both pregnant with baby #2. Baker is going to have 2 new cousins in May and they are both boys!! Fun! Fun! Fun! We have had so many wonderful visitors and are just overwhelmed by the love that we have received. Helen and the twins came by and gave me "The Bedrest Necessities"-Fun socks, gum, magazines and chapstick. Ali Rosenblatt came by and brought coffee and Magazines...love! Elegante, my friend since elementary school has visited several times and she is due 3 weeks  behind me with a sweet little girl. We were brought cupcakes from my sweet high school friend Peyton Warren and those were taken care of immediately! KK and her sweet fiance Tim came by and visited, loved the lilies and fruit that they brought. I had so much fun catching up with Lindsey, Trish and Claire..and Miss Anabelle! Trish brought me Girls Just Want To Have Fun",so I am all set! All of the nurses loved coming in our room because my mom was always ready to offer Christmas Candy with a smile.  These visits are what making each day go by with a smile! Loving all of my sweet visitors and I am really feeling all of the love!! We are lucky to have such wonderful Friends and Family.

Home Sweet Piedmont!

Well, we are on day 14 of Bedrest with sweet baby Baker. Bill and I (and Aunt Jessica) went in for our routine Ultrasound on Thursday, December 16th and were surprised to find out that my fluids were dangerously low and that we were being admitted to Piedmont Hospital. Thank goodness Jessica was there, she showed us where to go and made sure everyone was taking good care of me. What a great sister?!!

After the initial shock wore off, we were settled in our room with the best nurses ever. Vernice, Pookie and Miss Byrd have taken great care of me along with many other wonderful people. I have been overwhelmed with the support of so many friends and of course my wonderful family. Ashley and Chris were some of my first visitors and Alli and Mimi came down to stay with me for a few days, that sure did make the days go by fast! Mimi has made the most amazing food for all of us and has been taking such great care of us! Pop Pops has come to visit a lot and Grandma and Grandpa Weatherford have been so amazing with all that they have done for us. Thanks, my little Christmas Elves.

We checked my fluid levels on Monday the 20th, which were at 3 on Thursday the 16th, and were so excited to find that they had gone up to 7! Yay, we were going home for Christmas! After 2.5 glorious days of bedrest at the gorgeous Weatherford home, we went back to check in on our little guy only to find that my darn levels had dropped again. Merry Christmas, Piedmont!! We missed you! :-)

Our First White Christmas was spent in room #288, where our stockings were hung with care. Santa found us and we got so many wonderful things! The cafeteria even had a special menu for Christmas-woohoo!! All of my sisters and mommie came to see us on Sunday and came in wearing the Christmas Pajamas that we love so much. It was so nice of everyone to make a day of driving down to visit, it meant the absolute world to me!

My fluids have continued to remain low, so Dr. Gomez (or Dr. Huxtable) has said that I should settle in nicely and the get used to being here at Piedmont for a while. We have an ultrasound on Thursday 12/30, so hopefully Baker has some more room to swim! We'll keep you posted!! Until then, Keep Baking, Baker!!!
