Wow, this winter storm has been crazy...for everyone but me. I haven't had one problem with my commute.:-) Bill has had his office set up here at Piedmont for the last few days, but finally ventured out yesterday to go check on the Hotel in Fayetteville. We were supposed to have an Ultrasound on Monday, but the Atlanta Perinatal Center was closed on Monday and Tuesday. I was really anxious to get in there, especially after the crazy weekend that we had with Baker's heart rate dips.
I get a call on my little speaker and they said that the doctor was ready for me upstairs...Yay, we were going to get an ultrasound. Miss Pookie pushed me up to the office and Dr. Fogle was waiting for us. There was no one else in the office, so the three of us got to work on my ultrasound. GREAT NEWS, I had 8cm of Fluid for the little one! Wow! That has been the highest count in a month. I was so excited! I am extremely confident that it is because I am on a continuous iv. So, keep pumping the iv, please! My poor little arms look like I have been stuck like a pin cushion, but as long as we're keeping that fluid up, that's all I care about. Dr. Fogle went ahead and checked his weight and he has gained 11 oz. He now weighs 2lb, 14 oz, that's more than I weighed when I was born. They also measured his tummy and femur bones to see how he is growing and he looks great! His bloodflow also still looks fantastic. The doctor said that "Baby passed all of his tests today"-Praise the Lord! She was impressed at how much he was moving, I guess he is already working on his Tennis Split Step!
We did have a little bit of a long night. Baker's heart rate dropped for about 3 minutes and they were beginning to administer oygen to me because my oxygen levels were low for some reason. Here we go, I thought. But the nurses flipped me over (I sound like a whale :-) to my other side and his heart rate jumped right back up. I am positive that he does not like to sleep on his side...just like his Mommie. But we are good now and looking steady. I think that he is having too much fun playing "pattycake" with his umbilical cord. Mommie and Daddy had a good long talk with him about that, and we think he understands. :-) I am a bit tired and am hoping to rest today. On a funny note, a month of being on bedrest is starting to show. I have missed my hair and nail appointments and am really starting to look a fright! haha! I was defintely spoiled before, and now everyone says that I am getting a taste of what motherhood is all about. :-) My belly is definitely growing and I will post a pic soon! We are 30 weeks tomorrow, can't wait for another Friday!!
We are doing great and hanging in there. I am super pumped about our great appointment yesterday. Glad to not be out in the cold, we are nice and cozy in room #288. Until next time...Keep Baking Baker!

29 WEEKS! Interesting Weekend-January 10th Update
Well it is about time that I get back blogging! It has been a crazy 5 days and I have been resting and hanging out with Bill and my Mommie. Our Thursday ultrasound was pretty good, I was hoping for another consistent 6 or higher but my levels were at 4.5/5. No worries from the doctor. The Bloodflow to the baby looks great. We have all come to understand that I am just going to have low fluid and that is that. We are just going to focus on the baby's bloodflow and growth. This will determine when we will have to deliver. Dr. Gomez was able to show us Baker's growth chart as of last week and he is looking great. We will be measuring him again on Thursday and I am looking forward to seeing how our little one is growing.
My mom came to stay with me on Thursday night and gave Daddy a night to get some rest and we had a wonderful evening. My Mom-in-Law came over and we had a fun little Girls Night In. :-) My mom made awesome Pasta with Broccoli, salad, and bread; she completely spoiled me. She is the best! My fellow ACE Coaches came by to see me on Wednesday night and we had a fun little staff meeting in room #288. John Cerqueira, Bill's bestie from NC State, also came by to visit us and it was so great to see him. He is so funny and I know Bill appreciated him coming down from Charlotte to visit.
After our cute little Girls night in on Thursday, I had my normal 9pm hour heart monitoring and Baker had some dips in his heartrate. The nurse spoke with my doctor and they decided to put me on the monitor all night, just to keep an eye on baby. Well at about 1pm, they nurses came in to try and help me change positions because little one's heartbeat had dipped again. Next thing I knew, Dr. Williams was in my room and calmly told me that they were going to hook me back up to some fluid and have an iv ready in case we needed to deliver tonight. What??? I was like huh? It's 1:30 in the am and had no idea what was going on. She said that it probably will be fine, that we were just "bringing an umbrella in case it started to rain." I thought that was a great way of saying that they were preparing for anything. If anyone knows what happened at our Charleston Wedding, they will know that we are always carrying our umbrella. Haha.
We started our 29th week on Friday-YAY! Every Friday is a great day that little Baker is still Baking. Well since they put me back on the fluid, he has been doing great. Bill came and stayed with me Friday Night and My mom came to stay on Saturday night. They sure are a great team! Dad brought me some lunch on Saturday, yay for Jersey Mike's! and it was so nice to visit with him. He has been so awesome to come and visit. i feel like half of my posts involve a whole lot of talk about food. haha! Well, the doctor said to make sure I eat a lot so that I can grow this baby...and everyone has been so great in helping me to avoid the hospital food-you have no idea how fantastic that is!
I have just been trying to rest. Thursday night was super tough and I didn't get a wink of sleep, neither did my mom and she actually went and worked on Friday-what a trooper! I have been watching movies and reading and have barely been on Facebook-whoa, that's crazy! That's why it has taken me a few days to get back on my blog updates. Baby's heartrate seemed to stabilize on Friday and he looked great over the weekend. They decided on Sunday to take me off constant monitoring and they removed my iv. It was nice to be released for a little while. :-)
SNOW!!!
We were expecting a big snow storm on Monday, so Bill came Sunday morning prepared to weather the storm with me. Sure enough, the snow is here and we have had a fun snow day today. The view from #288 is great, we are right by the roof and it is covered with snow. We got about 5-7 inches and Atlanta is shut down. I think that my cute Husband will be hanging out here tomorrow as well. Since the city shut down, our ultrasound was cancelled. I am not sure when we will be going this week, but I will defintely keep everyone posted. We had a few dips this morning on Baker's heartrate...so...I am back on 24-hour monitoring and hooked up to an iv. The Fluid seems to reallly stabilize this little boy, so let's keep the fluid pumping! He had the hiccups today as soon as they hooked me up, I am sure he started chugging the extra fluid.
We hope to go in tomorrow for our Ultrasound, but it will probably be more like Wednesday. We are stocked up here with Hot Chocolate and marshmallows and enjoying the snow. We're watching the Auburn/Oregon game right now and it is a GREAT game!

January 5th Update!
I am wishing my sis, Ashley, a very Happy Birthday today. Finally getting to blog today, yesterday I had some wonderful visitors and had a huge headache last night, I'm pretty sure it was the Arkansas Razorbacks that contributed to that. haha. Helen and Kate came by to bring me lunch, and boy, did they bring a spread! Thanks guys! My Dad joined us as well and we had such a great time! Kate and Beth just had their debutaunte ball and I loved hearing all about it. Can't believe my little sissies are 20!
I also enjoyed a lovely visit from my buddy Carol Hoskinson. We had a fun little girls time and she brought me yummy strawberries and gorgeous roses! They really brighten up my room! It was so nice chatting and catching up. Thanks for coming, Ladies and Pop Pops! My mommie came and watched the game with me last night and brought Fellini's. The doctors said to make sure to eat well to help Baker's fluid...and it looks like I am getting that done. She also got little one a sweet pirate outfit, its SO cute! She takes such good care of me and I love when Mimi comes to visit! She worked hard last night, with my headache, and I felt like I was 4 years old again having my Mommie make everything better. Thanks Mom!
My good friends Kim Waite and Jenny Coleman came by for a visit today. I haven't seen them in ages and I feel so honored for them to come by and take time out of their day to spend time with me. I have missed them and it is so wonderful to reconnect with them. It's amazing how God works. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful friends.
We have an Ultrasound tomorrow and I am anxious to see how our little baby is doing, lets hope for another consistent fluid reading. We weighed him last Thursday, and the doctors only weigh him every 2 weeks, so they can really see the growth trends. So we will weigh him again next Thursday. Great news, we bought our stroller yesterday! It's supposed to be here on Friday. I told Bill to bring it in the hospital room so we can practice all of the fun tricks. It is an Uppababy stroller and comes with a sweet little bassinett attachment along with the regular stroller seat. It is super cool, you can face the bassinett/chair facing in or out and it also turns into a "snap and go". Whichever infant car seat you choose, you can buy an adapter and "pop" you are good to go! Thanks Mom and Dad W for Bill's b-day present! I came out great on Bill's b-day..haha!
Thinking of my sis Jessica today, she and Chris are not feeling so hot..so I am sending good vibes their way. I have been reading "Pillars of the Earth", which is so good and can't wait to watch the HBO Series. Some of my favorite shows are coming back on and the Australian Open starts in 2 weeks, so this bedrest thing is going to be a piece of cake. :-)
We are getting ready for tomorrow, so until then...Keep Baking, little Baker!

January 3rd Update
Our Ultrasound went great today! Baker passed 8 of his 8 little tests, way to go! My fluid is staying steady at 6 and that is the first time that we have been consistent. 6 is still low, but I am happy for a little consistency. His bloodflow looks great and he is moving around a lot. He actually flipped because there is more room in there. He really has been moving all around in there, its so funny! I spoke to a neo-natologist this afternoon and he helped me understand what Baker might go through when he arrives. Hard to believe that he might be here anytime and it is scary, but I have great faith that everything will be fine. I was born at 2 lbs, 10 oz and I told the doctor that if he is anything like me, he will be a fighter and he said that is definitely hereditary. :-)
I had a wonderful visit from my teammate and friend Raidy Houser. It was so nice of her to come by!! Christine also came by for a fun visit and brought lunch from Panera, Yum! I loved catching up with both of them and Christine always has the best stories to tell!
Our monitor in our room has been broken so we had tons of people in and out today trying to fix it. Boy was that exciting. haha! We can still hear his heartbeat, we just can't see it on the monitor. Its supposed to be fixed tomorrow.

Celebrating Bill's Birthday and Fun Visits!
Today is Bill's Birthday, we had a great day just hanging out and watching football. My wonderful in-law's came tonight to celebrate along with Jessica and Chris. We had Maggiano's for dinner, yum, and were able to use a spare conference room that was around the corner from my room. It was so great to get out of my little room for a little bit. I gave my husband some fun clothes, including a "Take Baker to the Park" hoodie. I also gave him some "w" cufflinks that are made out of antique type-writer keys. One of Jessica's besties makes awesome jewelry out of these type-writer keys and they are so cool. Jess and Chris gave him a much needed massage. He is definitely pumped about that and will put it to use ASAP. He asked for our Stroller as a present from his Mom and Dad, so sweet. I think that he is ready for this baby to get here! (Just not too soon-haha!)
I had a wonderful visit from my sister Ashley and her family. Boy, am I lucky to have her as a sister! She and Jim drove all the way from Greenville, SC to visit me and they brought my cute, cute, cute nephews with them. Riley, Gage and John Houston had a blast playing with the Rubber Gloves that were in my room. She brought me so many goodies, I don't even now where to begin. She brought some fun Maternity clothes to hang around the hospital room in and she brought Baker some of John Houston's baby blankets to use when he gets here. She also gave Baker the cutest christening bonnet. It is precious, and later he can undo a stitch and it becomes a beautiful handkercheif to give to his wife on his wedding day. Is that not ADORABLE?! My brother-in-law, Jim, who is a doctor taught me how to "swaddle" my stuffed animal today. It was so funny. I will be practicing! So great to see the beautiful Gettys crew today!
Thanks Ashley for everything! She also brought me a "New Year's" lunch with collards and blackeyed peas, so I am feeling extra lucky for tomorrow's ultrasound. We will call up in the morning and they will fit me in at some point tomorrow for our Ultrasound. Hoping and praying for higher fluid levels!

A Christmas To Remember!
The year of Terrill Christmas was unexpectedly changed this year and we spent our Christmas at the hospital, as I had noted earlier. Well my sisters and mommie picked up and came down to see us the day after Christmas and it absolutely made my day. My fam spent a beautiful Christmas at Ashley's gorgeous newly renovated home and were on the phone with me every minute to let me know that they missed us-and we were missing them! Can't believe we all finally tried Skype for the first time and I got to see everyone on Christmas Eve and my emotions completely took over as soon as I saw my sisters' faces. I also got to hear sweet Gage Gettys read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and it was simply precious-did I mention he is only 5!! What a great reader!!
We have a fun tradition where my mom gets us matching pajamas each year and this year she did not disappoint! She gave me my PJ present to open on Christmas Eve and we all talked on Skype and were wearing our matching pj's. Well the day after Christmas they all drove to Atlanta (Julie and the Allens from Nashville and Mom, Ashley, Tracee and Alli from Greenville). They showed up and were all wearing the matching pajamas! It was adorable and unforgettable. Piedmont Hospital experienced a Terrill Take-over and I am sure it will not be soon forgotten. We were able to watch the Jags on TV and had so much fun. Thank goodness Nurse Ashley was there to help the nurses do their job, my iv was beginning to be a pain, so she asked them to remove it. Thanks Nurse! Julie and the kids came back by the hospital on their way home and completely stocked my room with the most wonderful food! This hospital food is getting pretty tiring, but thanks to my sissies and mommie, I am in good hands. Thanks Julie for all of the groceries! Baker is loving it!!! And thanks to my Mommie who has been cooking my favorite foods and keeping me company. She is the best!!!

New Years Day!
Happy New Year! We are ready for 2011 and are so excited for this year to come. Party in Room#288! We tried ordering out to our favorite restaraunts around Atlanta and everyone was having prix fixe menus and no to-go orders. We decided to go with Plan D and order Indian Food from Raja. I bet the nurses loved coming into our room...just follow the romantic smell of curry. haha. We finished the night by watching Snookie drop in the ball on MTV and also watched the apple drop in NYC. We toasted with a nip of champagne and had some wonderful pound cake brought to us by our nurse Sarah. The cake was awesome and it was made by Ms. Byrd...one of our favorite CP's here at Piedmont.
